The hotel staff is incredibly kind and accommodating, and will answer any questions you might have about the region. The room was exceptional! The bed was so comfortable, we didn't want to leave! And the shower was stellar too. The little balcony was super nice! And the breakfast - fresh and delicious - features incredible variety.

It was our second time staying at Ventozelo. It is no doubt, the best property to enjoy Douro Valley. Gorgeous view of the river, amazing food, good wine, and lovely trails to enjoy.

The room was clean and comfortable, and there was a small cosy terrace with chairs. The staff were also very welcoming and accommodating! Location is superb!! We found free parking 400m away ("free street parking" on Google maps; lots of spaces).

The hotel was beautiful. Our room was fantastic and wifi was strong. I loved the shower and that the toiletries were provided in larger permanent bottles, not the tiny take away bottles (much better for the environment). The staff were all very friendly.

Featuring a bar and a terrace, Sapientia Boutique Hotel is set in Coimbra, 600m from S. Sebastião Aqueduct and 400m from University of Coimbra. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sapientia Boutique Hotel. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was very large and the bed was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. WiFi worked well. We had a wonderful, delicious dinner outside on the terrace! There is a rooftop patio with really incredible views. The location is very convenient to tour the Coimbra University! If you drive to Coimbra, make sure you get good directions to get out of the old part of the town. The streets are narrow, many are one-way, and are difficult to navigate. Don’t rely on Google maps! We loved our stay here and would stay here again!

Very good restaurant and wonderful service. Rooms are surprisingly spacious. Castelbel toiletries— a local Portuguese brand. Front desk organized a day trip for us, which was fabulous. The views from this hotel are breathtaking. Breakfast is delicious, lots of local selections and fresh fruit. Perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. The bar is fantastic, we ate every evening meal on site three days in a row. It was that good, and we are generally picky. We are already talking about coming back again. Linda and Vanessa were two of our favorites.
