Very well decorated with every little detail carefully planned. Room was cozy, clean and very comfortable. Location is superb! Inside the Walled City (Ciudad Amurallada), right by the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj), a few steps from Getsemani neighborhood. Staff was incredibly helpful, kind and polite! I’d like to point out Mr. Alejandro, who went way and beyond to make us feel at home. Also, Alejandro took care of our check out process and personally made us capuccinos at 5 AM, so we could leave to catch our early flight. Simply perfect! Sol de Alba, pay attention to Alejandro, he would make a superb manager!

Hotel Casona del Porvenir is ideaal gelegen in Cartagena, en biedt kamers met airconditioning, een buitenzwembad, gratis WiFi en een tuin. The room is tastefully decorated with style and has many nice features. Bathroom comes with japanese toilet and a nice shower. bathroom and room have some really nice wooden fans on the roof, but there is alsa an AC. Very nice patio with tropical plants. Once you enter the hotel, the noise, heat (and dirt) from the street is left behind. This is a place to relax and recharge your batteries. Staff is very nice, helpful and responsive, from check in to barmen and room service staff. You can choose the Breakfast from the menu, and it was really excellent. On check out day the hotel was preparing for a wedding so no late check out was possible, but they offered me to use the shower in the spa of a partner hotel only 20 m away (for free) which was really great. They provide free filtered water (in many other Colombian hotels you have to pay for the water). There is a small pool at the rooftop, enough to cool down in the tropical heat. There is a lot of electronics to manage the AC, curtain etc. This is OK, but might be a challenge for more senor people. Some guests didn't like that the rooms dont' have windows to the outside but only to the patio gallery. I didn't find that a problem, with that much sun and heat outside you get a cosy place to retreat in your room. But yeah, there is no "view". In the second floor they have a nicely decorated library. As of May 2024 there was a construction site in front of the hotel, they were digging up the road. Surprisingly you didn't notice that when inside the hotel.

Pool(s)- amazing. Rooms- amazing. Amenities- Amazing. Aesthetics- amazing. Welcome drinks- amazing. We met one of the directors there from Europe, and just talking to him about the hotel was amazing! We got a free upgrade on our room on our second night, but honestly we were already so happy with the first room we were put in. Everything was a 10/10; however, I'd like to emphasize how uniquely beautiful this boutique hotel is. It has so much character. It was the highlight of my honeymoon and we stayed in 5 different hotels in Cartagena during our several weeks trip there. We didn't come to Colombia from the US to stay in a generic Hilton- like hotel.
