Boasting many national treasures, Washington DC is the US capital and home to the world’s most iconic presidential building – The White House. Most visitors start at the National Mall, a huge park stretching from the Potomac River to the Capitol Building. It also encompasses the Washington Monument obelisk and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, of particular significance in US civil rights, commemorated by the latest addition - the Martin Luther King Memorial.
Also here are 11 of the city’s 17 incredible Smithsonian museums, including the unmissable National Museum of American History.
If all this gets too much, wander around Georgetown’s Colonial buildings and take a break in one of the student cafés. Many world cuisines are represented in Washington DC and the city also has its fair share of live music venues, with a surprisingly good jazz scene. The National Symphony Orchestra is based here and the Kennedy Center hosts a range of productions.
DC’s planning policy means there are no skyscrapers, so if you fly into Washingon Dulles Airport over the city, you see its white buildings standing proud. The city is also served by Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport and Washington National Airport. All are quite a way out, so leave plenty of time to get there from your hotel, apartment or guest house booked through Booking.com.
Green city with lots to see. Much less manic than New York.
Green city with lots to see. Much less manic than New York. Washington has leafy avenues the National Mall , White House, Capitol Hill and lots more. Good Metro and buses to get you to sights but watch out for events which close streets.

The location of the hotel is a short walk to the White house and other attractions. Tons of transportation near and around the hotel. So for people that dont drive its a blessing. The metro train stops right next to the hotel. The park across the street from the hotel has bus stops on every corner of the park. Every 5 or 6 blocks there is a park. Sightseeing and tour buses are short walk from the hotel. The cafes and restaurants are on the expensive side but the sandwiches at the Tatte cafe are delicious.

There is a lot to do in DC, plan ahead - some of the Smithsonian museums and places to see, require tickets (most are free but required) - if you don't get the tickets in advance - you may not get to see the place as a lot of folks book in advance.
Prepare to walk a lot. National Mall area has a lot of things to do but be ready to walk.
Plenty of food options all around - this should not be a problem.

I recommend taking an Uber if needing to drive anywhere or taking the Hop On/Off busses. It's the best way to get around. The traffic is awful and noisy. Lots of horns. Depending on where you go, be prepared for homeless and drug addicted people roaming the streets. Over all, there's lots to see and do. Be prepared for lines into the museums and large groups.

Washington DC is great but don’t stay at Embassy Suite...
Washington DC is great but don’t stay at Embassy Suite district by Hilton hotel .. you are paying luxury taxes but the hotel is not a luxury resort!! Another way of nickel and diming your money out of your pocket..rooms are never ready before 4pm and the lineup for check in was like one I haven’t seen except in their Miami Hilton hotel ( stayed there about 4 yrs ago.Luxury taxes on your bill then you have to go into their gift shop or restaurant/bar to use those $25.00 add on of Luxury taxes so criminal.. hotel is dated bathroom they upgrade the carpets in the rooms and lobby and a new lobby bar but the complimentary breakfast and drinks 🥲 loop warm hot meals dishes are kept below the counter ( who’s does that in a luxury hotel) knives and forks are placed in open containers for all dirty hands to touch and put back toaster old and slow you can put your toast in and take the elevator to your room take a shower and be back in time to hear it pop up..the staff picking up the dishes from the table are very friendly and always say good morning the chef cooking the breakfast o let does better when they see you drop a few dollars in their tip bottle.. Elevators run one at a time push the button and only one comes down or up Never two .. the man outside helping guest with instructions and their car works really hard always busy and kind to guest.. one more thing the small refrigerator (mini) need to be replaced items stay warm my insulin was colder in my personal ice cold container than putting it in that mini refrigerator Not a luxury hotel!! Can’t locate where is the ice no sign to tell u and you definitely need a like next to the hall phone to call the front desk can’t see the number to call about the door card not opening the door..
The main added value of this hotel is the location. It's in a safe neighborhood. The Wharf is a nice place to spend the evenings in, strolling by Washington Channel, or having a dinner in one of the many restaurants around. L'Enfant Plaza subway station is within reasonable walking distance. You can also walk to the national mall and all its attractions. Although the rooms are a bit worn out, they are clean, and housekeeping does a good job. The breakfast is good enough, unless you're very picky.
This is my new favorite DC hotel. Its commitment to social justice and to being LGBTQ friendly feels real not like a marketing gimmick. It’s eclectic and comfortable but doesn’t feel cheap or shoddy. The staff are fantastic and seem genuinely happy to help. The location is way and safe and the rates are always reasonable. It’s not fancy but full functional for a work trip with decent work spaces in the larger study rooms
Beds and comforter were very comfortable! The rooms were very soundproof—I’m sensitive to noise and in hotels normally the walls are super thin, but the rooms at the Line were extremely quiet and I couldn’t hear any of my neighbors! My room was also very spacious even as I booked the cheapest available. Bartender was very kind and knowledgeable about cocktails—highly recommend trying the cocktails they are delicious!
Very well located for sightseeing in Washington - all the main museums and monuments are within walking distance. Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. Very helpful and friendly staff. Room was a little dated (the hotel has a 70s vibe), but was clean and comfortable. Room had all the amenities you need, including fridge, and tea and coffee were replenished daily.
The staff was amazing and kind. My spouse and I so enjoyed the room size, the bed comfort, the food at breakfast and dinner. The happy hour bartender we had on Friday 10/30 was spectacular. She was so wonderful. The room size and the balcony was amazing. So glad we spent the time to find this hotel. The location near Dupont Circle is great too.
It was nice relaxing hotel, lots of great restaurants and shops around. It was only 15 mins walk to all the Washington attractions. Hotel was nice, value for money. Before I booked here I read a few bad reviews, sounds like made up reviews. Don't listen to haters, do you own research. You get what you paid for.
Breakfast/hotel room/location/hotel staff very friendly. Special mention to Trent who worked has reception very helpful, kind, my next visit to Washington we are going to choose the same hotel just because of friendly staff all departments this will include breakfast staff as well best staff all of them.
The hotel is centrally located in Washington DC. The check-in was professional und efficient. I even got a upgrade. The room was located on the 5th floor. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to come back.
the location is amazing. just Uber yo your destination is cheap and easy. wonderful food. good breakfast.
the hotel is modern and the rooms are beautiful. the manager was amazing and the kind clerk who helped us down to the street to get a Uber.
The hotel is low-cost but a high-value property with a short walk to the Metro. Washington is an expensive city and the hotel was good value. Also, the staff were very helpful. The room was clean and had two Queen beds.
Location was ideal. There's lots of places to eat nearby. Several coffee bars within 5 min walk. Hilton hotel is right across the street which is great if you have a conference to attend.
Top floor was the best.
One of the cheaper options for Washington, the location is great too. 10 minute walk from the White House, the hotel is rather dated, but if you are here for a short period of time this hotel is fine.
clean, spacious rooms, great breakfast. location near White House. about .7 mile walk to Washington monument from hotel. great restaurants and coffee shops nearby. highly recommend this location
possibility to rent the appartment :) very nice area close to main attractions of Washington, with free parking over the weekends. Easy check-in. The host very responsive, patient and helpful.
The hotel was the best priced hotel for the location I was seeking, near the White House. The small details in the room were nice, brass/gold finishes, art, etc.
