We enjoyed wandering around the older parts of town. The cathedral was beautiful and open to view inside. The entire town is walkable, no need to hire a car. Tirano is a very nice town.
Tirano is a very nice town. It is very well connected with other parts of Italy by train. Also, the main attraction is the Bernina Express, which departs hourly from the Swiss Train Station, which is opposite the TrenItalia train station. What a gorgeous little town right by the rushing river.
What a gorgeous little town right by the rushing river. Fascinating buildings and great food ( had a great pizza at LETI DI PILONI AXEL by the station. Only stayed overnight after coming from Chur on the Bernina line then on to Rome but could easily have spent a week here. Everything walkable.

Lovely town in the valley, surrounded by beautiful wooded mountains. The old town is great and the connection to the Rhaetian Railway and the beautiful Bernina line are not to be missed! You can take an open panoramic car on the train in July and August: https://www.rhb.ch/en/leisure-travel-and-excursions/groups-schools/charter-carriages/open-scenic-carriages

A friendly gentleman from the reception of Hotel Bernina took us to the place and showed us our room. We would probably have difficulty finding it ourselves (google maps showed a nearby pizzeria with a similar name). It was lovely to sit on the terrace in the evening and watch the trains and then the storm. The room was quiet despite being close to the train station. Breakfast downstairs was ok.KarolinaPoland

We arrived late but with the hosts we could discuss how to enter the room and he even sent a lot of photos explaining the way. Breakfast was excellent. Bed was very very very comfortable. Rooms only a few steps from the train station. It was very clean. After our journey we returned their restaurant for dinner and it was also excellent. Staff was super friendly. Convenient parking nearby.

The front office staff were excellent in all aspects. They allowed us to take care of our baggage after the checkout (10am):till the time of Bernina Express (2:20pm). The breakfast were good. You can visit several restaurants in walkable distance from Hotel for dinner.You get a good view of mountains from the window. Overall me and family were very much satisfied with the stay.

Highly highly recommend if you are staying in Tirano – you will feel right at home!
