Great place for two couples. Fantastic view. Excellent and very welcoming host.
Before arrival, our key concern was if internet will be sufficient to do work video calls and it was all fine and worked very well.

The location was really good, next to a natural pool. There are restaurants and a grocery shop near by. It has a really great view on Pico mountain. There are plenty of parking space in front of the building.
The check in went smoothly, and the owner was able to arrange a morning check in for us, so it's worth asking, but it based on availability and other guests leaving time.
Situated in Velas in the São Jorge Island region, Velasmar II features accommodation with free WiFi.

Good value, spacious, basic but very comfortable appartment. Beautiful natural swimming pool in the sea at the end of the road. Owners allowed us to check in early and arranged a taxi for the airport.

The host was very welcoming and gave us a lot of useful tips for our trip.
The location and view were stunning looking straight at Pico mountain! It was great to seat outside at the balcony and enjoy the view with a glass of wine and some cheese!
We were also offered bread, milk and a homemade banana jam for breakfast which was perfect.
We would stay here again if we return to Sao Jorge!

The staff was very friendly and happy help whenever needed. The daily housekeeping was done very nicely.
Amazing place. Completely stocked small supermarket.
Amazing place. Completely stocked small supermarket. Chinese store had an amazing selection of clothes, electronics, etc. Restaurants were wonderful. Everyone we meet was helpful and friendly. Go to the lagoon on the otherside of the island - heavenly. Better hydranga lined roads and fields than Sao Miguel. Call Ramos for taxi service - he is my cousin.

Piscina Natural Simao Dias, the most beautiful natural pool in the Azores. I would recommend it to others.
I traveled around the island on a rented scooter. But I thought it was safer to use a car.

Velas is a lovely little town on Sao Jorge.
Velas is a lovely little town on Sao Jorge. It isn't large but has everything you need for a week on tge island. There are several natural swimming pools with free umbrellas and shower/changing facilities (the fact they're free unlike so many places is really good). The restaurants we ate in were really good serving local produce with good value for money. The rest of the island has the spectacular scenery and Velas is a good place to base yourself to see it.

The hospitality of this village is to die for.
The hospitality of this village is to die for. Great food, pure hearted people, I recommend having a meal at Cervejaria S. Jorge with the great Chef Luísa Fernandes, take a boat tour and walk from Serra do Topo to the Fajãs. Try the local cheese and pair it with a nice glass wine. It's a healing place, too beautiful to describe. Book a longer stay, it's really worth the time

Velas is just a place to stay to have a base to explore the nature on the island. Unfortunately we had rain and fog most of the time and got to see very little. There is an excellent restaurant in the next town, Rosais. It is called O Branqinho and has a fabulous lunch for only about 8 euros.

This place was an apartment above a cake shop!!
This place was an apartment above a cake shop!! Breakfast was in the shop and it was open long hours for dinks etc. Very modern and well appointed but very noisy on two nights but this was only because it was festa time.and the stage was right next door in the market I bought some earplugs and after that it was FINE!!
Lovely little chalets with a beautiful view, nice pool and a very sympathetic manager of the hotel.
The restaurant has some delicious regional food and an excellent Gin tonic to enjoy the view on the terrace outside. The breakfast was prepared for every guest and included coffee, self-made juice, crepes, bread with honey and some marmelade and cheese of the island. They also scrambled some eggs for us.
The landscape of the island is magneficent. We loved to spend some days here!
- Fully equipped, clean, new apartment, with privacy and modern, nicely decorated interior (very good kitchen and bathroom)
- Beautiful view from living and sleeping room with own terrace (direct view of Pico island)
- Very personal and kind attention of both owner and a care taking person passing by every day
- Parking on the property
- Calm neighbourhood, up the hill, close to Velas but off the main road
This property has a great location with an amazing view, host is super nice and helpful, the bungalow is basic but very comfortable and kitchen is equipped with everything you might need. Coffee capsules were a great bonus in the morning :)
Beach is very close to the property. You might need a car/taxi if you'd like to hike the mountain trails.
Wi-fi is available as well.
Good value for money, recommend!
The small inn is located in Velas a short distance from the good restaurants and the port yet it's a quiet area. The owner, Julia, was very helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. There were 2 balconies, the upper one overlooking Mount Pico, the tallest mountain in Portugal. There were a few bakeries open early for the breakfast.
The property is beautifully appointed and centrally located in the beautiful village of Velas. Room was spacious, clean with views towards the ocean. The kitchen with conservatory was delightful, was so lovely to enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the sun and views. Ana, the host, provided some great suggestions on what to visit during our short stay.
The breakfast was terrific! The owner, Leticia, her son, and Catherina were very accommodating and kind.
The hotel is located in a small village near Velas. You will need a car to move around the island. However, the views from the hotel are unique! Very peaceful place.
The cabins/ apartments are very spacious, comfortable, and clean!
The property had stunning views and it is well located in the city. We watched a huge rainbow for over 30 minutes from our place. Beautiful!! It was close to downtown and a large market. The hostess Gisele was very sweet snd helpful. We will definitely tell our friends to stay here when they come visit the beautiful town of Velas!
Casa dos Lagos was a fantastic stay and exceeded our expectations for view and beauty! The place was cosy, relaxing, and the garden was exceptionally beautiful. The pond, flowers, and view are far more beautiful in person than in the pictures and it was always a joy to eat, sit, and relax outside!
The location is perfect. The room was renovated and very clean. The owners are very nice people, helpful. We had certain issues with our vacation planing and they actively found a way how to ease our inconvenience for our satisfaction. The family runs the hotel for more than 40 years.
The room was a short walk to anything in town. There’s also cafe with one of the better menu offerings in town right next to the hotel. My favourite amenity was the room’s large balcony with a great view of Pico. The staff is friendly and helpful. I asked lots of questions.
This hotel was on beautiful grounds with many places on the property to appreciate a gorgeous ocean view. We had laundry done here as well and it was done quite nicely. Breakfast was very nice. Staff was very helpful with restaurants and such. Parking was no issue.
Very good located in center of Velas, close to everything. Parking was available on the street and you always find a free place. rooms look newly renovated. Breakfast was good.
Amazing and such a friendly hosts. Breakfast was great with loads of choices. Stunning sunset and beautiful lookout. Can only recommend if you are staying in Velas
spacious accommodation with a fabulous view of Pico above Velas. Gisela was very welcoming and gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to see.
