FAQs about hotels in Cardiff

The Pride of Wales

Capital of Wales, Cardiff is a wonderfully green city steeped in national pride. At its heart is enormous Bute Park, divided by the River Taff and named after the marquis that once lived in Cardiff Castle overlooking it. In fact, this is just one of 5 castles within the surrounding area.

Over the road is Cathays Park, a beautiful square flanked by Edwardian architectural masterpieces including Cardiff City Hall and the excellent National Museum of Wales. Another must-see is St Fagan’s National History Museum, one of Britain’s top attractions.

From Victorian arcades to the fabulous St David’s Centre, shopping in Cardiff is a delight. And there’s no shortage of pubs and restaurants in which to rest awhile. Those by Cardiff Bay offer particularly pleasant views.

Also by the bay are the futuristic National Assembly for Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre. Another year 2000 landmark is the Millennium Stadium, a state-of-the-art venue for international rugby and football matches, as well as concerts. Next door is Cardiff Arms Park, home to the city’s rugby union team, while Cardiff City FC’s new stadium is in the west.

Cardiff Airport is further west near Barry and Booking.com have an excellent range of hotels, B&Bs and apartments both near there and in the city centre.

Please don’t go there the windows are covered with privacy sheets. You cannot see out of them in any of the rooms that I saw. Your bookings can be mixed up and the chef shouts at you as I said before Gordon Ramsay eat your heart out. He will shout at you if you have an allergy and you have to leave. And when they commit data protection breaches by putting your details on somebody else’s booking, they say they haven’t done it even though you’ve got photographic evidence

St Fagans living museum was great and loved the castles.

St Fagans living museum was great and loved the castles. Visited Cardiff Bay but otherwise there wasn’t more than 2 days worth of sights. There are more things to do as day trips but can be done from a less busy area than Cardiff. There was a great bit of traffic.

    Cardiff is a wonderful city.

Cardiff is a wonderful city. The people are very friendly, and it is a lovely place just to walk around. It's relatively small, so it's easy to navigate, and it has a A LOT of pubs, and bars. The sun came out on one of the days we were there, and I think everyone within 5 miles came out too, but it just made for a great day. Everyone was just enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend it for a weekend away.

There is plenty of things to do in Cardiff for any age groups, Cardiff bay is lovely with places to eat and drink, walking around the bay looking at the monuments and visiting the Norwegian Church Arts Centre for a lovely coffee and cake, or meal and hand made gifts, or you could find the enormous crocodile?? or take a boat ride. Cardiff city centre has a lovely choice of shops and bars as well as Bute park with visitors centre and coffee shop for a relaxing time on a sunny day or the National museum of Cardiff, there is so much to do and well worth a visit

This is a fantastically located hotel that is family run by the sweetest couple ever. Great commication and suggestions for places to go and eat. 24/7 reception. Great room. Right on the main city center Street and only two blocks or so from Cardiff Castle, but somehow not noisy when I finally got to bed. Best nights sleep since I arrived in the UK 5 days ago! Also fantastic price. Thank you so much and when I am back in the area I will try to stay here every time!
