EVERYTHING!!! The location was picturesque, and the facilities were impeccable with everything catered for. There was a welcome pack of crisps, chocolate, and milk. The Bell tent had tea, coffee and sugar available with a cool box, cooking facilities in terms of an oven incorporated within the log burner, and a BBQ fire pit outside (with all cooking utensils available at the property). The bed was both comfortable and warm with quality bedding and an electric blanket. The hosts were welcoming and available for any enquiries. I can not praise this place enough.

Small cute place.
Small cute place. Great genuinely Gluten Free and affordable Thai Restaurant in the center called 'Thai Basement' (01335 300305). Cute cellar based restaurant. Don't let the tiny door leading down to it put you off, it's a gem!

Lovely, charming little town, St.
Lovely, charming little town, St. Oswald's church is amazing to visit. The little Historical Centre is also a must to learn about the Ashbourne Shrovetide Football, and the Memorial Park was lovely too.
Easy access to the Tissington Trail is from the centre of Ashbourne, but sadly a substantial length of it was closed for our visit due to Ash Tree felling. This is due to continue well into December.
Short drive to Dovedale NT Nature reserve, but the river was in quite a full spate due to the recent rain so access to the Stepping Stones were limited. Ilam Park was a good alternative place to visit however.
We had an Anniversary meal at The Lamplight which was exceptionally good, and we had excellent lunches at Jack Rabbit's and Beaumont's.
We also had a couple of beers in the lovely Queen's Vaults which is a very cosy Craft Beer bar, as well as an excellent pint of Draught Bass in the Wheel Inn, where we were welcomed by the very friendly locals.

Lovely village. Lots of pubs, restaurants, shops and places to walk.
Very friendly people who are happy to stop and chat with you. Excellent location for Alton Towers - 20 minutes away.
Very good bike hire for short or longer rides. Tissington is a safe journey along the Tissington trail.
Have been here three times and still find new things to do.
Easy to find different cultures of food - Chinese, Indian, British, etc..
Looking forward to returning next year.

Nice reasonable places to eat.
Nice reasonable places to eat. Road through is very busy and noisy with constant traffic. mostly lorries, in both directions.
People were very friendly. We were a bit disappointed that so many businesses have closed since our last visit and there are many empty shops/cafe's etc. A sign of the times I expect. I would visit again for an afternoon, but I don't think we would stay overnight again.
Well supplied with kitchen equipment, utensils and condiments, nicely decorated and furnished, and a good, central location for visiting Ashbourne (which has some good pubs and restaurants, also a historic church). The lounge/dining/kitchen area was spacious, and the bathroom had a good shower, so our needs were well met. The apartment seemed to be well sound-proofed as we hardly noticed the traffic outside. Although the car park couldn't be accessed directly from Madge House, it was secure and safe.
Great location to relax wonderfull views from hotel nice bar area and outside area and nice restaurant very helpfull lady on reception even helped with bags on arrival and took them to our room and a very nice evening dinner in restraunt served by a very nice waiter excellent food ideal for walkers or if you just want to relax this is the hotel clean bedrooms and lounges a little dated in some areas but to be expected on a old building ticks all the boxes breakfast nice enough a very nice hotel
We had a lovely, relaxing stay. It was so peaceful and although the other two roundhouses were very close by they were secluded from view so you wouldn’t know they were there. The roundhouse was clean and had a lot of little extra touches like blankets for sitting outside on a chilly evening and fresh milk, eggs and sourdough bread left for us to enjoy. There were plenty of tea bags and coffee pods for the whole of our stay too. We walked into Ashbourne for something to eat and it wasn’t far.
We were in Derbyshire for a wedding and the pub/hotel was nearby and perfect for our needs. Room was large with good facilities including a kettle and a long mirror which is important when you are off to a wedding! Also a very decent shower. Breakfast was very good but didn’t have any other meals there. Staff were helpful and friendly. From the pub we did a short very pleasant walk along the river which then takes you into nearby Ashbourne.
Perfect setting in the Derbyshire countryside and an ideal location for visiting the Dales. We were very impressed by the owners' attention to detail and no expense spared on the fixtures and fittings. Extremely comfortable and such friendly and attentive hosts made our stay a memorable and most pleasurable one. We shall definitiley return at some point..
The breakfast was nicely cooked and very tasty. The room was very quiet at night when the traffic had reduced. The proximity to Ashbourne was good thought turning right out of the drive towards Ashbourne could be challenging at peak times. The property has pleasant views to the rear and a pretty garden. The parking space is adequate for two rooms
The farm is well located just outside of Ashbourne, perfect base for exploring the Peak district. The accommodation itself was absolutely beautiful. All the amenities you could possibly need are on site. Great instructions provided on finding the farm. Check in and check out were a breeze.
We had a fabulous weekend in this lovely house. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean, great location for Ashbourne (easily walkable and supermarket close) and easy to get into the Peak District for great walking in the White Peak particularly. We very much enjoyed out stay thank you
The Cottage was clean and well equipped. It was a reasonable walk from the center of Ashbourne. The neighborhood was quiet and there were nice views from the back of the house. Milk and teabags were left for us which was nice. Also some chocolate in the fridge!
Breakfast was very good, wide choice, and gluten-free bread was available as requested. Location was convenient for local pubs, and handy for Ashbourne, just a few miles down the road. There was a nice garden, with lots of flowers in a small area.
Wonderful location with views of classic Peak District scenery; clean, comfortable bedrooms in a building with old-style elegance; excellent food and friendly, attentive staff. will definitely return.
Loved the stay. Hosts were very responsive and when we wanted to extend the stay by a day, they gave us a great rate as well. Will surely return to this property whenever I am visiting Peak District.
Excellent Hotel, beautiful interiors, friendly & helpful staff and amazing food. There is so much to do in the area, from walking & biking on hotel bikes to local art & pottery classes
Nothing! I wish to complain about bedroom 2 at The George and Dragon In Ashbourne. We have left our accommodation without staying the evening. We have paid in full £75.
Lovely cottage on the farm yard. The property is sympathetically moderised and comfortable. A great place to stay and enjoy exploring the natural beauty of Derbyshire.
Great location for exploring Ashbourne and as a base for Peak District walking. Parking space very useful plus road parking nearby. Air conditioning came in handy
