We stayed in Casa Barlovento after the four day Lost City trek. It was the perfect place for rest and relaxation. The staff were adorable and there was a wonderful atmosphere about the place. A real retreat and highly recommended.

Exceptional location, right at the junction between the sea and the river. Our room was incredible... literally above the waves crashing with an open concept and a Mosquito net around the bed. By far, the best accommodation we had in Colombia! Lovely staff, nice pool, excellent restaurant and breakfast. Very special place. Do not miss it!

Lovely family-run place perched on a hill overlooking the jungle and sea. Really wonderful people. Our daughters loved playing with the animals on site. The food was also very good. How about that view from the pool! And the nearby beach is magical.

The best hostal in Tayrona!!! Great small cozy and confortable hostal in the middle of the nature with great views. The room was spacious with a great bed and a private bathroom, great view to the mountains and quiet in the night. I will definitely be back soon. Delicious coffee and pancakes for breakfast. Proximity to Tayrona really good - El Zaino entrance and walks. Other destinations a longer taxi ride (such as Minca) but all manageable.
Property itself is lovely. Immaculate, spacious and a very good food offering. Delightful service.
Nice pool and lots of space around to take in diffract views. Only negative is the weak shower pressure (cabana 1).
Easy drop down to beach and sea - and very atmospheric bar for sundowners.
Pretty much perfect

Liked: Came here in October 2021 and returned mainly because the place is absolutely beautiful. The view is stunning, you're in the middle of nature and wherever you look there are amazing birds or giant trees.
Disliked: During our five day stay, the water was cut three times and electricity went out twice (this didn't happen last year). Also, almost every night a noisy water leakage would start under the cabin and the last night there was a hydraulic motor-bomb malfunction nearby, very noisy as well. Every time I called the administration and they responded in good will, sometimes being able to help and sometimes not. But these issues are clearly the result of long-term poor management, and there is only so much the on-site staff can do.
Also, the hotel sells the idea of being able to offer good wi-fi: nothing could be further from the truth. Wi-fi is extremely unstable. You can go hours, even days without connection. So this is not a good place to go if you require a stable internet signal. I went with the idea of working remotely and had a negative experience in that department.
This said, it wasn't a horrible couple of days, but I'll be looking elsewhere for my next trip.

Los naranjos is a huge place where the jungle merge with the beach, divided by a river that can be crossed wslking when the tide is low, aligators are the puppies of the area and althought they look dangerous they only like to take a sunbath, they are afraid of humans, but dont test this, keep away from them and enjoy, the beach have different walking access, explore them all.

This was a mixed bag.
This was a mixed bag. On the upside, the restaurant was really fantastic and the view from the deck chairs, overlooking the beach, was just stunning. The room was clean and the restaurant staff were friendly. That said, the photographs of the rooms are misleading, as the rooms are actually really really dark, with just a few dim lamps providing a little bit of light. The “sea view” from the room that is pictured in the snaps is also not really anything. You can barely see the water. When we told the front desk staff that this was not what they were advertising, they said they would "be back to discuss" and then never showed up. Since it was only one night, we decided to just stick it out. Also, at this price, it seems like the hotel could have hot water in the showers. Oh, and our room was next to the kitchen so we were woken up early with noise from the staff, blender, etc.
This hotel is a real treat. It lays directly in the jungle, but the beach is only 5 min walking distance via a private and beautiful trail.
We saw monkeys and parrots, while enjoying drinks at the pool, I had a nice massage and the views are amazing!
What made our stay even better was the staff. Everybody was super nice and helpful. But the best part of our stay was the food! This chef offered colombian food with great twists, as well as international food. Everything was fresh and tasteful, such as the drinks. We loved every bit of our stay!
The location of be hotel is excellent, very close to Tayrona NP and the view from the hotel and terrace is stunning. The dinner and breakfast was excellent and the rooms are spacious and nice. The staff were also incredibly nice and helpful. Special thanks to Sharon who was on hand to help, Sandris who prepared an excellent breakfast and helped me out massively with getting a taxi, and to the girl who helped me check in and the evening barman/chef (I didn’t catch their names unfortunately!)
Such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. I am a firm believer that the staff can make or break a hotel and the staff here confidently knows what they’re doing- everyone from the reception to the kitchen staff was extremely kind, helpful, and attentive. A smaller hotel so plenty of attention on the guests. Great rooms at an affordable price- and did I mention views!? Stay here if you’re in Santa Marta. We stayed at three places in the area and this was our favorite.
Location overlooking see and river. The sound of the ocean 24/7 was a new experience for us. Located next to a couple of other boutique hotels where we could eat or use the spa, so some good variety. Very convenient for access to Tayrona National Park.
All the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful throughout our stay - especially accommodative my partner’s dietary requirements.
We twice had yoga classes on site with Halie who was an amazing instructor.
Hotel Isabella is a gem! Room was wonderful and comfortable, with great A/C (we really needed it after Tayrona). Staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The food is excellent! Very short bus ride to main Zaino Tayrona entrance. Experienced a full blown tropical thunderstorm our second night while eating dinner but it only added to our experience! If you are only visiting inside the park one day, save your money and stay outside the park!
The staff and the food! We had thought about eating at a nearby restaurant one night but continued to choose our hotel- enough choices to be able to try different things. Maria and Joanna were so helpful as were others whose names I don’t remember. Other highlights: David the chef, the beautiful pool, air conditioning, and the finely landscaped grounds where we could birdwatch from our front deck.
Villa playa naranjos was a stunning place in a gorgeous location. The staff greeted us with mango juice & were so kind to wait for us & give us information about the area. They accept Apple Pay so that’s a plus. I took my dad here to be able to experience luxury meets jungle type of place. It exceeded both of our expectations. 100/10. Would visit again!
Amazing beach just 5 min walk. The sea is ruff like everywhere on that coast, so one should be very careful while going into water.
The hotel garden is very nice. The owners are friendly. The food is good. It is a bit uphill, but you will be rewarded by great views
they charge extra 15% for the card (but are accepting it, because some hotels dont)
Absolutely loved our stay! The staff were so friendly, the best service we had in Colombia. The food was delicious, especially the French toast! It’s a perfect location if you want to visit Tayrona National park. The calibre of this hotel is high for this area, highly recommend! We would love to go back in a heart beat.
The hotel has a lot of beautiful areas to relax: the pool, the beach, the bar and restaurant…The room was very spacious, comfortable and quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is very close to the tayrona park but very quiet. A place to relax while soaking up the views
Wonderful location of the hotel in nature. Guests enjoy the company of parrots and many flowers. The beach is great but not recommended for swimming as there are big waves. For surfers it is very good. The food in the restaurant was delicious, fresh and beautifully presented.
Spectacular hotel!
Great modern architecture with amazing pool and view of the river, the beach, the sea, the jungle and the mountains!
Amazing food, really helpful and friendly staff!
Beautiful room in the cabaña!
Next to a private beach, los Naranjos!
The hotel is beautifully built in nature. It is quiet, with nice services. The staff are very accommodating, whatever you need they make sure to make it happen. It is close to park Tayrona, you can easily take a bus and get there for a visit.
One of the most beautiful locations I have ever been. Top that off with helpful and friendly staff, gorgeous rooms, superb food, and access to better bird watching, views, beach walks, and sunrises and sunsets than those in Tayrona Park.
It’s in an amazing location, the sound of the ocean is incredible, and Tayrona National park entrance only 10 minutes away. The food is good, the rooms very comfortable and the hotel itself beautiful with several lovely pools
Location is fantastic. Food was excellent. And the massage was out of this world. The hotel staff was very helpful in arranging a ride to the park entrance and the airport. Memorable stay!
This is a very nice and quiet Hotel just 5 min from the beach. I celebrated my birthday there with my friend and the staff was amazing, the breakfast as well as dinner was outstanding.
The friendly staff make for the best experience at Casa Xue , great location and views of the jungle are spectacular. Short moto ride to Parque Tayrona, 10 min walk to the beach.
A stunning property. Really sweet staff. Overall such a peaceful and beautiful place. The pictures don’t do it justice! Other hotel guests were
also very kind.
