Excellent Breakfast, choice of cooked or continental, freshly cooked on ordering.
The location in the village was fine, fairly central and we had a dedicated parking space off road.
We had dinner there twice and enjoyed it. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, all the staff were very helpful.

Lovely big room, but it had two extra beds in it which detracted from the size as only wanted room for two. Nice breakfast.

Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District.
Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District. The village seems to be a thriving community and there are plenty of walks from it without needing to jump in the car. It's a 20 minute drive to Chatsworth and same or less to Castleton.

Litton had a great pub and a useful post office. Tideswell had 3 pubs, 2 restaurants, a cafe, a butchers, a Coop, 2 x fish and chip shops and a bakery, as well as a few other small businesses. The Star was a great place for a meal.

Tideswell is a convenient village for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and the Monsal trail in the Peak District.
It has 3 pubs within the village that all serve food, plus an Italien restaurant, a fish and chip shop and a local convenience store. The eateries get very busy in the evening so it's probably best to pre book. There are plenty of pubs in surrounding villages.
You probably need a car to get there, we did not use public transport.
There is a lovely church known as the Cathedral of the Peaks.

Possibly blown away by the friendliness of the place.
Possibly blown away by the friendliness of the place. I was expecting it to be friendly but it exceeded my expectations. Cathedral of the west worth a vist. I recommend a full breakfast from nearby cafes and a central location for many key Peak district sites.
Being the only two guests actually staying in the hotel came as a surprise and was an odd as well as unanticipated experience - with no staff contactable between effectively around 5.00 p.m. and 8.00 a.m. - which could have presented difficulties as my partner is, and was known to be, quite seriously disabled. Fortunately it didn't, and all contacts we did have with staff - Jo and her colleagues - were very positive. Food too was plentiful and well prepared, which of course it ought to have been in the circumstances.
Location of the property in Tideswell was perfect being just up from the main part of the village. It was perfectly placed for walks in the area ie Tideswell via Millers Dale and Ladybower. The property has good off road parking right in front of it. The village itself had a lot going for it - busy, well kept and good pubs. We would recommend the George Inn just down the lane from the property- the evening meal was excellent .
We liked the owner providing a bottle of red wine-that was appreciated.
We loved it all. It is a really lovely cosy cottage. We took our two well behaved dogs. I hadn’t researched properly so there was no yard/area to let them out but that was my oversight and I can’t judge the property owner for that. We had a fabulous time. It’s our 4th time in Tideswell and we will be back. The locals are always so very friendly and there are beautiful walks and drives from the doosrstep.
Location and cottage were both superb, in the heart of the village with surrounding walking routes/Bakewell only a short drive away. Lovely country pubs and essential amenities all within walking distance.
Designated parking directly opposite the cottage was fab and enough space to accommodate the dog too.
The log burner was an additional touch for those chilly evenings. Would definitely stay here again!
The house was comfortable and was lovely and clean. It's a great location for walking to local pubs and restaurants and a quick drive to wonderful nature spots in the Peak District. The owner left me some bread, biscuits and a bottle of wine which was much appreciated. Having a fenced yard and being dog friendly is a definite added bonus! Lovely comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again.
If you ever come to Peak District, this is the place to stay! Linda and Garry are great hosts which made us feel home. Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit and traditional english eggs, beans and mushrooms and even some sweet afternoon cake. Bed was very comfy and room spacious and clean. Location in Tideswell is great, close to Castleton and a lot of other highlights in the national park.
The location in the historic village of Tideswell with its amenities was great. The pub is full of character and the decor is restrained and very attractive - it has integrity. The managers and staff were great and the food was very good - a great ambience in the bar. The four poster room with own sitting room and kitchenette and en suite wsa excellent.
I really like the cottage, it was clean and modern. Very comfortable for the family stay. Kitchen was fully equipped so it was easy to prepare breakfast and food. It is located in the very nice village Tideswell. Restaurant, local pub and Coop are within the walking distance. It is close to the Peak District Tourist attractions.
Breakfast was amazing, all freshly cooked. Restaurant in the evening was also excellent, with veggie choices too. Bed in the room was very comfortable. Great central location for the Peak District, and village of Tideswell was lovely with good pubs in walking distance if you didn't want to eat in the restaurant
Beautiful, quirky house in a wonderful location in Tideswell. All the little details were absolutely spot-on; fluffy towels, comfortable beds and a welcome hamper of tasty treats was very much apppreciated. We will absolutely come back to Billy Whiskey's the next time we are looking to stay in the Peaks.
Primrose Cottage is in a beautiful village right next to a post office / general store with a great pub a stones through away. It’s a short walk into Tideswell with some of the best hikes we’ve been on. Primrose Cottage has everything you could need, it is so warm cosy with great attention to detail.
Due to its corner plot, the cottage has huge rooms - plenty of space for us all. The house was well equipped. Very clean. The location was excellent - very easy to walk to a number of cafes/pubs, and Tideswell is really central to get to other towns/walks. We would happily stay here again.
Great cottage for a family stay and although we don't have a dog, we liked how dog friendly it is. Lovely rooms and great location, no parking problem at all, close to a pub , some restaurants and shops .
Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything that you needed.
This property is in such a great location easy walking distance to all shops , pubs etc
The cottage is lovely and has everything that we needed whilst staying there ! We loved having the log burner on after our long walks
The property was very clean and comfortable
Lots of walks available within a short distance we’re a big appeal to me. The village is wonderful and the cathedral is beautiful
I’d definitely return!
