When we finally found the hotel which is in a back road near the station it was a pleasant surprise. Possibly could use a sign on the main with directions. As we missed it 3 times.

It is a lovely city and the hortillonages are very interesting and lovely to walk in.
The cathedral is well worth a visit and we had the privilege of attending Sunday Mass there which we loved. Very reverent and befitting of true worship. Beautiful singing.
We can also recommend Ad Hoc Café in the St Leu district. Good food and well priced; good vibe.

This visit (my second to Amiens) Day 1 started at the Saturday canal-side market, lots of stalls with seasonal vegetables, fruit and herbs grown in the Hortonillage and the Somme region. Then I dipped into some shops - including an inspiring visit to the ground floor of the big Monoprix where clever lighting makes quite ordinary day to day food look irresistible, some of the many new and secondhand bookshops, a huge ironmongers and an over-the-top patisserie. In the afternoon, to Jules Verne's house: a wonderfully, eccentric building; full of marvellous furniture and objects, very well curated. I spent the whole of Day 2 (7 am - 4 pm at the extraordinary - huge - Spring Braderie. I found that my visit to the Jules Verne house, and its thoughtful interpretation made the market especially enjoyable. Many of the stalls had examples of the things I had found so interesting in the house - for instance archeological finds, including flint axes, found around Amiens; corals and shells; endless examples of oil lamps (some working, other 'do-er' uppers). Many stalls had very good pieces of ceramic from different periods and cultures. Lots of the stall holders were up for a good bit of haggling. Then a glass of beer in the sun-shine ,sitting on the street outside a cafe, buzzing with laughing locals and visitors.
Amiens is a very walkable city, its buildings are fabulous. It's lively and very clean.

Lovely old town centre and especially the cathedral.
Lovely old town centre and especially the cathedral. Well worth a look around. Nice cafes. Parking was initially a problem as large town centre car park ticket machines did not work. We got a side street machine which worked fine.

Amiens is a small city, and perfect for walking.
Amiens is a small city, and perfect for walking. The cathedral in particular, is spectacular, but it's not the only place of interest in, or around, the town. St Leu, and Les Hortillonnages, plus Le Jardin des Plantes, are well worth visiting and, of course, many of the WW1 sites are within very easy reach, by car.

Amiens is an old city with old world charm.
Amiens is an old city with old world charm. It is great walking through the old town and the cathedral. It also has a lot of great restaurants. Amiens also is a great base for visiting the World War One battlefields.
Lovely, welcoming, staff. Our room was spotlessly clean and very well equipped - couldn't fault it. Dinner was delicious and fairly priced - not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. If arriving by car, the private car park has ample room & no headroom restriction. We were in a van and stayed at Le Vivier instead of staying in Amiens where surface parking is limited & not necessarily secure. Great to stay in family run accommodation instead of the usual chain hotels
The location is perfect in the centre of Amiens with an underground car park. Make sure you reserve your parking space at the time of booking.
The reception area is more akin to a cocktail bar with dining area. It’s really appealing with an interesting interior decor celebrating Jules Verne (who lived in Amiens until he died).
The staff are pleasant and friendly.
All in all this hotel is a great find,
Hostess is marvellous, attentive and friendly. The shower was new and spacious. Very practical and complete kitchen.
Location was a bit away, exactly our target. We wanted to stay in quiet neighborhood instead of the center.
Road connections are super easy to the coastal villages, to the center of Amiens, etc. Supermarkets at 200 m. Center of Amiens at 1 ,5 Km, 5 min in a car.
From the outside, the hotel actually looks a bit like the odd hotel in the neighbourhood of the central station. The entrance is inside the foyer of a big shopping centre ( not very attractive)….BUT THE HOTEL IS REALLY NICE, CLEAN and the STAFF IS SUPER FRIENDLY!
I would like to recommend this place for a stopover! The breakfast was included and really good!
Staff were very helpful and curious, even when some spoke very little English and we French. But we persevered 😁. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Plenty of storage and well equipped for a longer stY. We stayed 2 nights, 1 each way in our travels to South West France. Location was superb. We will be staying here again. Perfect for our family of 5 plus 🐕.
It is a good central location for bars, restaurants etc. The appartment was clean and well equipped with some thoughtful touches and basic provisions provided. We hired some bikes (www.velam.amiens.fr/) to cycle around the city and along the river (en.francevelotourisme.com/cycle-route/somme-valley-cycle-route) - they only cost 1 euro a day!
The breakfast was nothing exceptional but it was more than adequate. The hotel is situated on a main road going into Amiens and it was in a great location for the nearby bars and restaurants. The rooms were basic but efficient and clean and certainly comfortable enough for a quick overnight stay.
Amazing location, large place and incredible value. Was the best introduction to France we could hope for. For a young couple, I could not recommend this place more highly. The internet was excellent, 500mbps upload and download.
See the photo of Notre dame from our window.
Spacious studio apartment. Very comfortable. Instructions for access were very good. It was very clean. We would be delighted to stay here again. Lovely location for visiting Amiens, with parking outside the door. It was a bit basic but overall fantastic value for money.
Receptionist was friendly and courteous.
Hotel is in a great location for someone traveling through France, with plenty of stores nearby.
Great price, good size bedroom and comfortable bed.
Parking space conveniently available right next to hotel.
Everything was wonderful! It was a cozy apartment in a great location!! It was wonderful communicating with the owner, and he made it very easy for us. We look forward to visiting Amiens again, and hope we can stay at La WAIDE again !!when we come back❤️
Friendly person at the reception, flexible regarding breakfast, the room was clean, the design was old fashioned yet functional and brought you back to what visiting Amiens should be. Happy I chose this over the Mercure.
The location is great. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is just a 3 minutes away from the main train station in Amiens.
The breakfast is small but nice. I was able to store my luggage after checkout until 7 p.m.
Functional hotel, good in its category. Good breakfast. Near the train station, and not far from the cathedral. Visiting the cathedral was our reason or staying in Amiens.
A short break for us in a place we hadn't visited before in France, loved it all the food the vibe the Christmas Market, will be coming again as not here for long enough
Very good location, very friendly staff. We are on a two month holiday around France, we are going back there for another few nights. Very secure car park.
