The best thing of all about the Hotel California and what made our stay so memorable was its charming and attentive host Marcel. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and when it was time to leave we felt like we had made a new friend. The property is in a lovely rustic garden setting and the pool is a nice size with space for using the loungers alongside it or on the adjoining grass. The interior of the house is spacious with a large lounge for guests to use just off reception and our room was comfortable and clean. The shower had good pressure. The hotel’s location was convenient for shops and supermarkets. It was a 15 minute walk to the fabulous Burriana beach and 20 minutes to the wonderful Balcon de Europa. The breakfasts were delicious, served up by Marcel on the sunny terrace. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks Marcel!

The hotel and grounds are spotlessly clean and tidy. The garden is very pretty. The rooms are fairly basic, but super clean and in good condition. It has its own small pool and sun loungers, but the lovely beach is 10 mins walk away. The most direct route home is up hill, if that's a concern. Nerja is beautiful, and the hotel is in a quieter part of it, but just a short walk from all of the many bars and restaurants, shops, sights, etc. Marcel the owner is something special, and makes your stay a very charming experience. He is an extremely hospitable host, and couldn't look after you better. Thank you Marcel!

The owner of the hotel was very kind, helpful and friendly. He clearly cared about my experience. The breakfast was also made by him and served to my table with a lot of attention to good service. The room was simple, quiet and clean. The pool looked nice, although I never got around to using it.

Breakfast was simple, but good. What I appreciated in this place was that it was very close to the center and yet at the same time very quiet at night. The room was very clean and provided us with everything we needed. It is in the perfect location for the centre of Nerja as it is a 5 minute walk from the local beaches and the main square. Marcel was extremely helpful as he provided a list of amazing restaurants and locations to visit and was there to give us anything that we needed. The pool was also fabulous as it was peaceful and was in a perfect spot for sunbathing and relaxing!

Absolutely loved the place and its style! We got a very warm welcoming from Marcel and some useful recommendations from him as well. Very personal approach. The beach is only a few minutes away (by walk) from the hotel and the small town of Nerja can be reached within a 15 minute walk. It’s a great value for money! The swimming pool is very clean and a beautiful place to relax. In general, it is a quiet place which feels more like staying in a villa than a hotel. Thank you for your hospitality, Marcel.
